SCORES
- Judges will visualize a perfect 10/10 score for their obstacle and score you according to their ‘perfect performance’.
- You are being judged on your partnership with your horse including elements completed and the overall quality.
- Equine and rider are awarded 0-10 points each for their obstacle. A plus for the equine and/or rider are awarded at the judge’s discretion and may be given to any score range. Pluses are used to break ties, they are not added to the score.
- Judges score using the scoring scale:

PLACEMENT POINTS

- Placements points are used for our Lifetime Awards (Equine Carrot Award & Star Rider Award) and for tournaments.
- Every class awards rider and equine placement points.
- One placement point is earned for riders and equines that do not place in 1st-6th.
- Classes with less than 11 competitors will award 1 placement point to all riders and equines.

RANKING POINTS
- Ranking points are based on the overall placement held at the ride.
- For example, a first place rider with 50 competitors at the event, will earn 50 ranking points.
- Ranking points are used for tournaments.
- Ranking points accumulate for the region that you ride in.

DETERMINING YOUR TOURNAMENT BRACKET

- Each time you compete you place in a bracket - Novice = 1 Intermediate = 2 Advanced = 3
- Add up your bracket placements to determine your bracket placement total
- Divide the bracket placement total by the number of events
- Example - you rode in 10 events, you placed in Intermediate for 6 events and you placed in Advanced for 4 events.
- 6 x 2 (Intermediate) = 12
- 4 x 3 (Advanced) = 12
- 24 points / 10 events = 2.4 = Intermediate (see below chart)
- Rule of thumb: You will qualify for the bracket that you most often rode in.
